In January 1975 I opened an auto repair shop. I always had 5 or 6 wrecked cars around to sell parts off of (mostly high performance Chrysler products). I rented a lot across the street from my shop and increased my inventory to about 30 cars. February of ’85 while driving back from Florida, I came up with the idea of opening a ‘salvage yard’. Good idea ... No money! I contacted a good friend of mine, Robert Strickler, who was a businessman and he loaned me the money to purchase the Eberts Lane property. Within a few months, August of ’85, we opened for business with an inventory of about 35 cars and it quickly grew to 900 cars. We currently have an inventory of 1800 plus.
